Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RoosterOS ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile apps, dashboards, and connected-trailer services (the "Services").

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: name, email, password hash, phone, role, organization.
  • Billing data: handled by Stripe; we store only customer/subscription IDs.
  • Trailer & device data: camera streams, recordings, clips, telemetry (battery, signal, location), event/alert metadata.
  • Usage data: log files, device/browser info, IP address, pages viewed, actions taken.
  • Support data: messages you send us, screenshots, and audit-log entries.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and secure the Services.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Send transactional notifications (alerts, invoices, security notices).
  • Improve product reliability, debug issues, and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Video & Just-In-Time Support Access

RoosterOS staff cannot view your trailer cameras or recordings by default. Access is granted only when an organization admin enables the "Give RoosterOS Access" switch, is limited to troubleshooting, expires automatically after 24 hours, and is logged in the organization's audit trail.

4. How We Share Information

  • Service providers (subprocessors): Supabase (hosting/database), Cloudflare (edge/CDN), Stripe (payments), email delivery providers. A current list is available on request.
  • Your organization: data is shared with other authorized users in your tenant per role-based access controls.
  • Legal/safety: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal/accounting needs. Video recordings and clips are retained per your plan's retention window. Audit logs are retained for at least 12 months.

6. Security

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, Row-Level Security in our database, hashed credentials, and offer enforced two-factor authentication. See our Trust & Security page for details.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., California, Colorado, Virginia, EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or limit processing of your personal information, and to appeal a denial of these rights. California residents can exercise the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" via our Your Privacy Choices page — though we do not engage in either.

8. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. International Transfers

Data is processed in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you consent to transfer and processing there.
